Voting is one of our most fundamental rights and obligations as citizens. John Lewis said it, knew it and worked hard to make access to the ballot a reality for all citizens. But what do we really know about the law of voting? Why did we need the Voting Rights Act of 1965?  Are there still legal barriers to citizens voting today? Or non-legal barriers? If so, what are they and what can we, as interested citizens or lawyers, do about it?  What new, innovative approaches, legislative or otherwise, are being proposed to ensure citizens’ access to this most important of rights in the future?

Come join us and our exciting panel of speakers as together we learn about the VOTE and our key roles and opportunities as citizens and lawyers.

Panelists: Linda Wynn, Fisk University; Charles Grant,Baker Donelson; Doug Johnston, Barrett Johnston Martin & Garrison; and Shanna Singh Hughey, ThinkTennessee.

**One Hour General CLE Credit will be offered to attorneys in attendance.
