Ethical Quandaries for Government Attorneys

Expert panelists will delve into the ethical obligations and ethical dilemmas that face government attorneys, particularly government attorneys who represent executives. Panelists will pull from their professional experiences to discuss topics such as the duties of loyalty and confidentiality, obligations to uphold public interest, client management, and more. The discussion will incorporate applicable rules of professional conduct as well as other ethical obligations for government employees.

Robert E. (Bob) Cooper, Jr. - Former Tennessee Attorney General and current Member of the Compliance & Government Investigations practice Group at Bass, Berry & Sims, PLC. 

Sandy Garrett - Chief Disciplinary Counsel, Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.

Alberto Gonzales - Former United States Attorney General and the former Counsel to President George W, Bush. He is currently the Dean at Belmont University College of Law.

Clark Milner - Assistant Deputy Counsel to Governor Bill Haslam. Former associate with Bass, Berry and Sims, PLC in Nashville and a law clerk to Chief Judge Tomas A. Varian of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Junaid Odubeko - Partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. He has experience representing insurance producers before the department of commerce and insurance and representing utility companies before the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, as well as representing and advising clients in the political arena on legal issues and issues related to campaign finance.
